When You Get Less Than What You Deserve
So many things in life happened now that I could not catch up right now on this post.
Overall, it is a good thing, I will share a bit later... However, tonight I have something in mind that I would like to share first. After some good food with nice accompanies today, I took a hot shower with all my favourite bath supplies. I feel so refreshed and relaxed now. Let's see if that could help me flow the words properly here... :)
I want to talk about something that some of us, if not MOST of us experienced often : When you think that you get less than what you deserve.
How often do you feel that?
When you think that your boss doesn't appreciate you enough even though you have worked overtime and more than your job description, perhaps?
Or..when you think that your partner does not love you enough the way you love him/her?
When you think that you have done everything you could to make your parents proud, but still...it is not enough.
There are three ways on seeing this feeling or thought :
1. Expectation.
If you read my question above again, I said : "When you think....."
There is a reason for that, because our expectation does not always match with reality. Have you ever thought the other way around that maybe the opposite party feel the same way too, based on their thought?
Expectation belongs to us. And sometimes it does not always align with facts and it is very subjective.
2. See inside yourself.
What you can do is to start to see inside yourself. Why do you think so? Do you have high expectations? Maybe your expectation was based on something that you have seen outside your situation, example : you see other people got different treatment than you, so you expect to get the same treatment too. or else? Find some peaceful time with yourself and make peace with it. This inside we can control. The outside.... other people is difficult to control and too big to be controllable.
3. Winning the thought.
When you have made peace with yourself, you can win any situation. Because the control is in YOU!
When you have done your best, and other people do not see it, do it anyway! keep doing it anyway.
You are what you do, you have your own standard. If you can do better, do improve.
You know yourself better than anyone. you set your own standard. When you do your best, you will feel good, not because the salary defines you, not because what other people say define who you are.
I hope everyone is still doing fine despite all this situation that we share worldwide.
More than anything, you survive is the blessing already.
No matter what happens, be kind and be patient, good things are coming their way.
